Recently, Teresa Giudice has been in the news for more than just flipping a table. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star and husband Joe made headlines for being $11 million in debt and having to file for bankruptcy. “When people fall, the way to success is to get up and learn from our mistakes,” Giudice told People. “We are in that process.”
Before the revelation of her financial woes, the 38-year-old reality star and author of the best-selling cookbook Skinny Italian sat down with iVillage to talk about the controversy she’s stirred on the Bravo show and her life as a mom of four (to daughters Gia, 9, Gabriella, 5, Milania, 4, and 9-month-old Audriana). So, what does she say today about the infamous table-flipping incident with costar Danielle Staub that catapulted her into reality-show infamy? “I’ve never ever done that in my life -- that was the first time,” she says. “But I challenge you to hang out with Danielle for a couple of weeks and see what point you get with her.”
And despite bestowing lavish gifts on her girls -- like a spa birthday party for Gia’s 9th birthday -- Giudice insists that she doesn’t spoil her kids. “I think everybody spoils their kids -- I don’t think I in particular spoil my kids,” she says. “Hello, if we go shopping it’s because they need clothes. It’s not like I go shopping every day for them -- not at all.”
