Former MTV star David "Puck" Rainey continues to live up to his bad-boy image as the Real World: San Francisco's notorious troublemaker: he has been arrested for suspicion of DUI after crashing his car in California earlier this week.

"There's evidence that alcohol was involved," Officer Brian Pennings of the California Highway Patrol confirmed to E! News. "He's been arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. He'll be facing charges of DUI, child endangerment and driving without a license. Due to his medical condition he remains in the hospital."

Rainey and his young son, Bogart, were injured in the wreck after Rainey lost control of his car, which skidded off an embankment and rolled over. They were reportedly on their way to a father-son fishing trip.

The reality star "was trapped inside the vehicle," police said. "His 8-year-old son was able to self-extricate himself, went up to the top of the embankment they rolled down and flagged down a passerby for help. His son was restrained and only sustained minor injuries."

"He has some pretty severe injuries, so we don’t know how long he is going to have to stay in the hospital," added the officer.

Rainey's son, who was treated and released from the hospital, is back home with his mother.

Puck's manager said he "cannot confirm or comment" on whether or not his client had been drinking before the crash.
