Sometimes reality stars are so terrible in real life that even the TV show that is displaying their awfulness can't handle them. That happened on a recent episode of Kitchen Nightmares, when Samy and Amy Bouzaglo were so absolutely horrible that Chef Gordon Ramsay quit helping them -- the first time in the history of the series that he walked away from the restauranteurs he was trying to help. Check out their bad behavior in the clip below:
It gets worse. Following the airing of the episode, the couple behind Amy's Baking Company Bakery Boutique and Bistro took to their Facebook page and had an absolute meltdown. Though the comments written by Samy and Amy have since been deleted (according to them, they were hacked), a choice example is Amy (assumedly) writing, "WE ARE NOT FREAKING OUT. WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT A 'WITCH HUNT' I AM NOT A WATCH. I AM GODS CHILD. PISS OFF ALL OF YOU. F--K REDDITS, F--K YELP AND F--K ALL OF YOU. BRING IT. WE WILL FIGHT BACK." Basically, this is the stuff reality TV is made of -- but it's terrifying to know that they are real people with a real child who serve real customers real food. But does this make them the worst couple in reality TV history? Maybe, but they have some good competition.
Back in 2012, we put together a list of the 25 most memorable reality TV villains. Ramsay, not surprisingly, was on the list, but so too was one of the worst couples to ever grace the small screen: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. Throughout the series run of The Hills we watched them manipulate their friends and each other, walking down a dark path of plastic surgery and more reality shows and debt. They arguably would take the title of worst couple in reality TV if only because we've known them for so long.
But since the content on The Hills was debatably scripted (we're still loving the ending of that finale), we'll turn to another couple who is notorious for being terrible. The Amazing Race contestants Jonathan Baker and Victoria Fuller have gone down in history for being the most unlikable people to ever compete on show after Baker pushed his wife following their loss in Berlin in 2005. It was a low moment in the show, showcasing the way reality television can highlight the worst parts of peoples' personality.
The Bouzaglos have become infamous thanks to their on-camera meltdown; the fact that they went off the rails on social media just exaggerates how unlikable they are. We can only imagine how unbearable Montag and Pratt and Baker and Fuller would have been had the use of Facebook and Twitter been as prominent when they came to fame as it is now. Well, we can count our small blessings at least.
