Nearly 800,000 Car Seats Recalled -- Is Your Child's One of Them?

If you have a car seat or booster from Cosco, Safety 1st, Eddie Bauer or Maxi-Cosi, it might be part of the latest product safety recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration yesterday announced a recall of nearly 800,000 car seats manufactured by the Dorel Juvenile Group.

No child has been injured or died because of the seats, but some moms say the harness locking and release button doesn’t always stay locked. So if a child moves around, the strap can come loose.

These car seats, boosters and convertible car seats were made between May 1, 2008, to April 30, 2009. Here’s a list of the seats affected. If yours is on the list and you’re not a registered owner, e-mail the company at harnessadjustment@djgusa.com or call (866) 623-3139, and they'll send you a free repair kit.
