Pregnant Reese Witherspoon isn't due until September, but she may be giving birth before her due date. According to RadarOnline, the 36-year-old actress was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital early Wednesday after experiencing signs of early labor.
"Doctors have sedated Reese and they're keen on keeping her from going into an early labor so the baby's development will go to full term," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.
"Reese's husband Jim hasn't left her side and he doesn't plan to," the source added, referring to Witherspoon's husband since March 2011, agent Jim Toth.
This will be the first child for Toth and third for Witherspoon (who has daughter Ava, almost 13, and son Deacon, 8, from her first marriage to Ryan Phillippe).
"Jim is really worried about the baby. He's a first-time father so this is all really new to him and he just wants everything to be okay," the source revealed.
"He's a bundle of nerves. Meanwhile, this will be Reese's third child, so she's been through this before and she's trying to keep him calm."
Radar reported that the Academy Award winner was originally in the hospital on Tuesday. She was reportedly released that evening, only to be re-admitted Wednesday morning with continuing pregnancy complications.
Although her reps have yet to comment on the story, another source told E! News that there was no pregnancy emergency.
"The visit is a normal thing for a lot of pregnant women and there is no drama," the insider told E! News on Wednesday. "All parties involved are healthy and fine."
