Reese Witherspoon Hit by a Car While Jogging!

The actress is recovering at home after being hit by an 84-year-old driver in Santa Monica

Reese Witherspoon was rushed to Santa Monica Hospital Wednesday afternoon after a car struck her while she was out jogging. As she attempted to cross the street, the Academy Award-winning actress, 35, was hit by an 84-year-old driver. The car didn't stop, TMZ reports.

According to TMZ, the police confirm that the elderly driver was going about 20 miles per hour when she hit the actress. The unnamed driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian and released. 

Witherspoon did not sustain any life-threatening injuries, sources say, and was discharged to recover at home after being treated.

This month's Marie Claire cover girl has been in the news a lot this summer, between her romantic honeymoon in Paris, her much-buzzed lunch with fellow Jake Gyllenhaal-ex Taylor Swift, and the intimate magazine profile where she reveals what "a relief" it is to be remarried after being a single parent for four years.
