chime in nowInterior designer Sita Montgomery’s home office is proof that a beautiful space doesn’t have to cost a fortune. To create a functional and stylish space for less than $300, she reinvented pieces she already owned while incorporating new purchases from big box stores. To dress up an old wood laminate filing cabinet, Sita painted it white and used $40 decorative furniture decals from O'verlays. For added storage, she purchased a $70 Vittsjo shelving unit from Ikea, spray painted the frame silver and filled the shelves with affordable storage boxes and small decorative accents she already had on hand. She bought her desk at World Market for $149 and instead of buying a new office chair, she used a complementary spare from her dining room.
