The following transcript is best read in a soft, but steady voice with special emphasis. If a word is italicized, it should be read with emphasis. Where indicated, the italicized word should convey the feeling of the word, i.e.; "heavy" and should be said in such a way as to suggest heaviness. Remember that it is the emotional hemisphere of the brain that you are addressing, so keep the flow of your voice consistent and steady. Read it as you would read poetry aloud.

In fact, you can, ________________, think of labor as a process of adjustment, whereby your cervix adjusts around your baby's head as he or she comes down and your vagina stretches in response to the hormone relaxin which increases in your blood stream near the end of the pregnancy. It will be helpful to give yourself the suggestion that you are just beginning to follow your baby now, through the changes necessary to give birth. Slowly your hormones shift and rearrange in the last month of pregnancy and you can, __________, feel your baby's head heavy, down on your cervix.
