Removing Stains and Odors

Lucky, our beloved cat, used a corner of my carpeted bedroom as a litter box one night. Now I'm trying to get the smell out. I scrubbed the area with vinegar, carpet cleaner, ammonia and then Febreze. The ammonia smell is still extremely bad. Does anyone know of a product to try on the area? --iVillager barbaraaneal

You need to use an odor neutralizer after cleaning. The best ones I know are F.O.N. (Feline Odor Neutralizer), Simple Solution and Nature's Miracle. One or more should be available at your local pet shop.

Be aware that you have to use about one-and-a-half times as much solution as there was urine. It has to go down right into the carpet pad. Read the directions for how long you leave it on.
