Cameron Diaz can breathe a sigh of relief! It seems the reports stating that her man, Yankees player Alex Rodriguez, was making time with The Real Housewives of New York City's Kelly Bensimon are greatly exaggerated.
"The whole story about Kelly and A-Rod is absolute, unadulterated hogwash," a rep for the baseball player told UsMagazine.com.
The New York Post's Page Six reported that Rodriguez and Bensimon flirted and cuddled at the Art Basel party in Miami on Tuesday, but the athlete's mouthpiece says the story was completely blown out of proportion.
"There were 1,500 people at that party at Wall, and Kelly was one of many that were clamoring to meet him," a source added. "The suggestion that he had his arms around her and they were flirting is a cheap attention-getting ploy."
A different A-Rod source says that Bensimon, 42, isn't exactly the kind of woman the athlete (who also dated Madonna and Kate Hudson) is into. She "is not exactly his material. She is a sponge for attention, and this is a case where an accidental collision at a party was used to enhance her profile."
