Repeated Brushing and Hair Damage - Hair Expert Kevin Murphy - Substance Hair & Nail Salon

Does repeated brushing help or hurt hair?

Repeated brushing is very good for the scalp, and since hair is alive only at the roots, it’s also good for your hair. Brushing stimulates the scalp by encouraging blood flow, which keeps your hair healthy. Make sure you use a high-quality brush that doesn’t snap the ends. If it grabs your hair or hurts your scalp, it’s the wrong choice. Soft, natural bristles are the way to go. I recommend Mason Pearson and Denman brushes. Avoid plastic or synthetic bristles.
