Demi Moore was rushed to the hospital Monday night, and sources are saying she was seeking treatment for substance-abuse issues. According to TMZ, paramedics were dispatched to the Margin Call star's home in Los Angeles after 911 received a call at 10:49 p.m. Jan. 23. After a 30-minute evaluation, Moore was taken to a local hospital.
"I can confirm that we received an emergency call at 10:49 p.m. for an unknown illness related to that address," L.A. City Fire Dept. spokesman Matt Spence tells People when asked about Moore's address. "We transported at least one patient to a local hospital. The patient was transported at 11:21 p.m."
Sources tell TMZ the medical problem was substance-abuse related and that she's checked into a facility to "seek further professional assistance." Moore's rep did not address the substance-abuse claims but did confirm that the actress, 49, is seeking professional help.
"Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health," her rep said in a statement. "She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends."
It has been a difficult several months for Moore, who split from husband Ashton Kutcher in November after reports of his infidelities were made public earlier in the fall.
"As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," she told the Associated Press at the time.
Moore was supposed to play Gloria Steinem in the upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic, Lovelace, but as of Tuesday night, her rep confirmed she is no longer attached to that project.
We hope Moore will recover soon and get back in front of the camera when she's ready.
