This week, the blogosphere is buzzing about this incredibly thorough list of fictional restaurants from movies, books and TV. Fake restaurants of note include The Peach Pit (the Beverly Hills 90210 diner), Flingers (the TGI Friday's-esque chain where flair-bedecked Jennifer Aniston works in 1999's Office Space), The Krusty Krub (Spongebob Squarepants' hangout) and Jack Rabbit Slim's (the '50s-themed restaurant in 1994's Pulp Fiction where John Travolta dances with Uma Thurman). Of course, the problem with these restaurants is that you can't actually eat at any unless you're a fictional character. But don't let that ruin your appetite! Check out our five favorite real restaurants and bars, all of which figure prominently in hit films:
1. Katz's Deli
The setting for Meg Ryan's famous fake orgasm in 1989's When Harry Met Sally, this delicatessen is a neighborhood institution on New York City's Lower East Side.
2. Mystic Pizza
Located in Mystic, Conn., this smalltown pizzeria inspired the 1988 Julia Roberts comedy.
3. Cafe des Deux Moulins
Remember the cute little café where Audrey Tautou waitressed in Amelie (2001)? It's a real coffee shop in Paris, which now serves a dessert named after Amelie.
4. Kansas City Barbeque
Tom Cruise and Anthony Edwards were seated at the bar of this San Diego restaurant when they belted out "Great Balls of Fire" in Top Gun (1986).
5. New York Bar at the Park Hyatt Tokyo
When Scarlett Johansson met Bill Murray in 2003's Lost in Translation, they were drinking in this spectacular Japanese lounge -- which also offers a casual dining menu.
