Return to Sender

I’m on a reading kick. I’ve been borrowing books from my friends lately and in return, they’ve been picking out books from my collection. But I get worried that I may not get them back.

I didn’t want to write my name on the inside cover, but I wanted to remind people that the item on their nightstand did not belong to them and that is was on loan from Anne’s Library.

I remember seeing beautiful bookplates at the stationery show a couple years ago by Felix Doolittle, and googled the company to see if they still made them. Not only are they still produced, but the designer has expanded the line. (Look for more of Felix’s work in upcoming articles on the Home & Food Channel.)

In addition to this design, which features books, the line has other book images and scenes from nature that you can stick inside your book's cover and write your name. I think these bookplates are so lovely, I might want my name calligraphed on the blank line. 15 adhesive labels cost $25 and are available at the company’s website,
