"Mean." "Liar." "Naughty." "Two-faced." The character slurs are flying fast in a new promo on Bravo, and that can only mean one thing: There must be a Real Housewives reunion coming up!
Indeed, the Season 3 reunion special for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is on tap -- set to air right after Monday's season finale (8 p.m. ET for the finale and 9 p.m. ET for Part 1 of the reunion).
The big news? Human lightning rod Adrienne Maloof opted not to attend. (She's also not participating in Season 4.) Watch a preview below!
“This season was hard on Adrienne," says an irritated Andy Cohen, with hardly a trace of sympathy. "As you know, a secret about her family was revealed by Brandi [Glanville]. And from that point on, Adrienne refused to speak directly about it. We know it frustrated all of you in the audience. It frustrated us, too. … Adrienne Maloof’s final act as a Housewife is not showing up tonight.”
In the interest of keeping it, uh, real, Cohen was frustrated because the loss of Maloof meant the loss of lots of dirty laundry for others' voyeuristic enjoyment. In an explosive December episode, Glanville revealed Maloof's "secret" to the other Housewives, and producers drew further attention to the classified family info by not revealing it to viewers. (We merely watched the shocked reactions of cast members --without learning the cause of their surprise.) Naturally, all kinds of speculation arised.
The secret turned out to be that Maloof used a surrogate to carry her twins, and didn't plan to tell six-year-olds Christian and Colin until they were older. "Brandi took away something so precious from our family,” Maloof told Life & Style last month. “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what I said," Glanville told the magazine. "We all knew it already. She would always lie about it. It’s not that big of a deal. They’re still your children, just somebody else had to carry them.”
So -- a still-fuming Maloof didn't show up at the reunion, and Cohen was mad about it. But honestly, Andy, aren't the other ladies' issues enough for you? Maloof didn't corner the market on crazy this season, you know, and the clip below proves it.
For one thing, Glanville had a special way of getting under nearly everyone's skin. "You're a mean, naughty little girl," Kim Richards hisses at her in the promo, while Glanville grimaces.
At another point, we hear Glanville saying that she also thinks something is "kind of f---ed up." Presumably she means Taylor Armstrong's ability to fall madly in love with another man so soon after her husband's suicide. The comment sends Armstrong's surgically enhanced lips into an unnaturally pillowy pout. Interesting.
Poor Kyle Richards admits that she feels Glanville has stolen some of her spotlight. (Apparently, showing off her pool-ready bod on Stars in Danger: The High Dive didn't stanch her need for attention.) Still, Kyle is in top form when it comes to exposing cast mate gossip. "Why don't you tell Lisa [Vanderpump] what you said about her in Paris?" she asks Yolanda Foster, whose mouth drops open in horror. Whatever that turns out to be is less important than what happens next: We get a chance to witness Vanderpump exercising that subtly raised eyebrow, the one she's perfected over a lifetime of judging others.
Will we be watching the 'RHOBH' reunion special on Monday? Do these ladies use Botox?
