I have loved Ricky Schroder since I was seven and my parents wouldn't give me the $19.99 to join Ricky "The Ricker" Schroder's fan club! That is why I'm so psyched he's joining the cast of 24 for the sixth season. Ricky (do you mind if I still call him Ricky?) will play CTU operative, Mike Doyle, who teams with Jack Bauer (one of the best TV characters of all time) to execute some key field operations. "Key field operations?" That sounds pretty vague, so I'm not sure what it means or how I can make fun of it. Ricky's addition to the cast is the lastest in a long list of actors getting the call to come fight the good fight for America. He joins newbies Jayne Atkinson, Peter MacNicol, James Cromwell, Regina King, Kal Penn, Marisol Nichols, Alexander Siddig, Harry Lennix, Chad Lowe, Powers Boothe and David Hunt. And that list doesn't even include the returning cast members from last season. I hope 24 doesn't turn into Lost where every week there's another new person I've never seen before popping up from behind some rock, pretending they've been there all along because we know what happens to ratings when that's the case. Let me give you a hint: They don't go up. The two night, four hour blockbuster premiere will take place on January 14th and 15th.
