Rihanna Cancels Concert After Being Rushed to the Hospital

The "We Found Love" singer came down with a nasty case of the flu and had to skip out on her scheduled performance in Sweden

Rihanna has been spotted enjoying herself throughout Europe while on the overseas leg of her Loud concert tour. But yesterday the fun stopped when she had to cancel her performance due to illness.

The 23-year-old superstar was supposed to perform in Malmö, Sweden, on Oct. 31. But instead, she was getting to know the country's medical system. Suffering from the flu, Rihanna was rushed to a Swedish hospital where she received IV fluids -- proof of which is in a photo she posted on Twitter, accompanied by the caption, "Sorry Malmo!"

"I am sorry to everyone who was coming out to my show in Malmo, Sweden. I was so excited to perform for you all," the singer told Us Weekly in a statement. "It would have been a great time...so much better than being sick with the flu, ugh! I'm really disappointed I couldn't be there."

So far, there's no confirmation about when the Grammy winner was released from the hospital or whether she will resume her tour with a scheduled concert in Stockholm on Nov. 1.

The "Man Down" singer's sixth full studio album, Talk That Talk, hits stores on Nov. 21.
