Rihanna has just made music history. She now holds the record for a soloist charting 20 top-10 hits in the quickest period of time.
The 23-year-old singer's latest single "We Found Love" just soared from 16th to 9th on the Billboard 100, marking her 20th official hit since 2005's "Pon De Replay." It took her only six years and four months to achieve the milestone, beating out former record holder Madonna by five months.
According to Billboard, the Material Girl took six years and nine months to release her first 20 hits, from 1983's "Holiday" to 1990's "Hanky Panky." But Madonna still holds the record for the solo artist with the most overall Top 10s -- she has 37. Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson are a distant second place with 27 each, and Whitney Houston has 23.
Considering RiRi is a full 30 years younger than Madonna, the overall record could actually be within Rihanna's reach.
Not bad for Jay-Z 's young protege!
