It's a new Rihanna video, and you know what that means: prepare to have this song stuck in your head for days! "Rude Boy" may actually be the 21-year-old singer's catchiest single since "Umbrella."
Like that top-selling summer hit, "Rude Boy" has an infectious beat and shows off the Grammy winner's Caribbean roots (downplayed somewhat in the first track off Rated R, "Russian Roulette"), although the suggestive lyrics are more far more daring than "Umbrella," to be sure. The video, full of neon graphics, harkens back to hip-hop videos from the '80s. We love the fierce jungle imagery and the black-and-white interlude, clearly inspired by late pop art legend (and Madonna pal) Keith Haring. And of course, the clip features an assortment of fashions no one but Rihanna could pull off -- like a skintight catsuit covered in rubber spikes and a leggings-crop-top combo featuring an oversize leopard print.
