Rihanna's Restraining Order Against Chris Brown Lifted

New ruling allows Brown to be in the same room as his ex, as long as he doesn't bother her

It's been more than two years since Chris Brown and Rihanna had that awful altercation the night before the Grammy Awards. And now a judge feels it's time to put the past behind them.

At a court hearing in L.A. Tuesday, a judge knocked down Rihanna's previous restraining order and replaced it with a level one order. This means that Brown and Rihanna can be around each other, as long as he does not harass, annoy or molest his former girlfriend. The new arrangement will allow the stars to appear at awards shows together in the future.

According to TMZ.com, Rihanna did not appear in court but was represented by her lawyer, Donald Eltra. The attorney told the judge that his client was fine with the new agreement.

In August 2009, an L.A. Superior Court Judge put a five-year restraining order in effect, which required Brown to stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna. At the same time, Brown was ordered to five years probation and to spend more than 1,400 hours in community service. Brown completed his court-mandated domestic violence classes in December 2010.
