Rob Lowe will be breaking ties with his Brothers & Sisters family at the end of this season, ABC confirms.
The actor, who was bumped up to regular cast-member status in 2007 after a successful guest stint, reportedly felt underutilized by the show and has worked out a deal with executives to make an amicable exit.
But have no fear, Lowe-lovers -- the network likes the actor so much, they seem eager to get him on a new show, pronto.
"We would like to keep Rob at ABC," network president Steve McPherson told Deadline.com. "We feel he should be anchoring his own franchise. We are in talks now.”
So, how will Lowe's character, U.S. Sen. Robert McCallister, be written off? The story line is still up in the air, but rumors that he will be killed off are swirling. Stay tuned.
