Robert Pattinson is just saying no... to press -- even if it means canceling parts of the promotional schedule for his upcoming drama Cosmopolis.
According to Entertainment Tonight, in the wake of the cheating scandal of Kristen Stewart's infidelity with English director Rupert Sanders, the Twilight heartthrob, 26, has cancelled an upcoming press appearance to support his David Cronenberg film, which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
The Manhattan-set drama is supposed to premiere soon in New York City, but it is not known yet whether Pattinson will be in attendance on the red carpet.
The actor's rep, however, denies that any scheduled events have been taken off his plate.
"No confirmed engagements have been canceled. Any reports to the contrary are inaccurate," Pattinson's rep told Gossip Cop.
So will Pattinson promote his much-anticipated leading performance in the adaptation of Don DeLillo's 2003 novel? Only he knows, especially considering all of the conflicting reports regarding his state of mind and his reaction to girlfriend Stewart's affair.
While some stories claimed Pattinson is drowning his sorrows by partying with his friends in his native England, sources say those articles are false and that he's still in seclusion and continues to be "really depressed."
