Robert Pattinson has bounteous talents when it comes to acting, charmingly relating anecdotes during interviews and winning over women with naught but a longing glance (see the Twilight movies and the upcoming period romance Water for Elephants for examples). One thing he's not skilled at? Using a washing machine.
During his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday, 24-year-old R-Pattz told Ellen that his ineptitude at doing laundry often leaves him without any clean skivvies. And on these "special occassions," he's forced to resort to wearing the promotional Ellen undies DeGeneres gave him on a previous visit to the show. As Pattinson reveals, this caused some serious gossip on the set of the latest Twilight movie, when the very unique underpants were repeatedly exposed during the filming of an epic fight scene. Watch the interview below:
Pattinson joked that he thinks he has "a couple more vertebrae" than most people, which causes his "ass to hang out" of his pants. The result? "We were doing this big fight, and every shot has these Ellen underpants," Pattinson said. "It came to a point where producers are calling up my agent going, 'I don't know what he is up to, but I don't like it!'"
"Like there is some conspiracy theory of my underwear being in the movie or something," Ellen replied.
"It's like, they never questioned Fruit of the Loom before!" Pattinson chuckled.
While Pattinson's image is often associated with the smoldering Twilight vampire Edward, in person he comes across as humorous and playful. At the red carpet premiere for Water for Elephants, he and Witherspoon bantered about their sex scene in the film, giving fans a glimpse of the chemistry between the two stars.
DeGeneres seemed equally taken with him, giving the A-list actor a new basket full of Ellen underwear. You know, until he learns how to wash his own clothes.
