Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's relationship is more than a romance: It's a brand. And ever since Stewart was caught smooching her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, their value has been plummeting. In fact, the cheating scandal got Robsten bumped from the Forbes list of 2012's Highest-Paid Celebrity Couples.
"Stewart and Pattinson were, in fact, left off of the list because they are broken up," a Forbes spokesperson confirmed to The Huffington Post.
Hold the phone -- broken up? Who said anything about Rob and Kristen breaking up? Aren't they still crying themselves to sleep at night, longing for the halcyon days of shooting Twilight, hoping beyond hope that love conquers all?
Um, maybe that was just us.
Anyhow, it seems that Forbes decided to play it safe and assume that Robsten was finished. Had they been included, Stewart and Pattinson's combined income of $40 million would have earned them fifth place in the Highest-Paid Celebrity Couples rankings, bumping Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith off the list. (This year's No. 1 couple is Beyonce and Jay-Z, with their $78 million combined earnings.)
If Rob and Kristen really are over, we may find out Monday night when Pattinson makes his first TV appearance to promote his film Cosmopolis. Reportedly, Stewart is a nervous wreck over his choice of media outlet, The Daily Show.
"Kristin is very, very nervous about Robert’s interview with Jon Stewart on Monday,” a source told RadarOnline. “She’s confident that Robert, who has always been such a private person about his personal life, will keep quiet over the cheating scandal. But she does have some concerns that Stewart might poke fun at the situation in an attempt to get Robert to open up. While she has a sense of humor, this isn’t something she wants joked about. Kristen is hurting and doesn’t want her heartbreak poked fun at on TV."
However, it seems unlikely that Pattinson will agree to any interrogations about his personal life. According to The Huffington Post, he made it very clear that he would only give interviews if they focused on his film.
"He could have easily canceled, which gives him a lot of power to make sure the interviews don't end up focusing only on his personal life," a TV host told the website. "He knows he's going to get asked the question and will have a prepared answer for it, then after that he will move on to talking about his film. You have to remember it's an interview, not an interrogation. Both shows are total pros and will handle the situation with class, and in Jon's case, a little humor."
As for the future of their relationship: it's still unclear, no matter what Forbes says. RadarOnline reports that Pattinson "goes back and forth" and "hasn't decided either way" about giving Stewart another chance.
