It's not surprising that filming an elaborate wedding scene might make an actor think about his own future wedding -- especially when the actress he's marrying on camera just happens to be his real-life girlfriend.
Twilight star Robert Pattinson admits to iVillage that while his character, brooding vampire Edward Cullen, was preparing to tie the knot with Kristen Stewart's Bella Swan in Breaking Dawn -- Part 1 (in theaters Nov. 18), he imagined his own special day. And he couldn't help but focus on how small the groom's role is.
"Yeah, you're kind of just standing there like a penguin at the end of the aisle," the 25-year-old British actor tells iVillage. "You definitely realize it’s definitely the bride’s day. The groom is just a prop."
Of course, after the wedding scene in the film comes the highly anticipated sex scene, where Edward's intense passion causes him to shatter the headboard -- literally.
"It was obviously an incredibly awkward thing," he says. "You’re trying to look sort of sensual and at the same time you’re trying to pull the headboard down as hard as you can. The whole bed collapses afterwards...it was actually kind of terrifying in a funny sort of way."
