We're So Glad to See Robin Roberts Return to 'GMA'!

The Obamas and celebrities welcomed the anchor back to the news show after she underwent treatment for a rare blood disorder

Robin Roberts has made her long-anticipated return to Good Morning America, and she did it in style.

After being forced to take a leave of absence to undergo treatment for her rare blood disorder, myelodysplastic syndrome, Roberts finally got back in the GMA anchor's chair on Feb. 20. "I have been waiting 174 days to say this: 'Good morning, America,'" she said during the morning news show.

We've been waiting, too. Even though Roberts was away from the show, she was hardly forgotten. The GMA team kept us up-to-date on Roberts' recovery and even had her on the show a couple of times so she could speak to her loyal viewers. Roberts shared her status personally as well, recording a video about her bone marrow transplant and writing blog entries about her journey.

And what a journey it has been. Roberts put on a brave face throughout the entire ordeal, showing off her post-chemo bald head during interviews and talking about MDS in her typical honest fashion. She frequently referred to GMA as her "home"; it's nice to see her there once again.

And her GMA family made sure to give her one heck of a homecoming. Wednesday's special edition of GMA included a taped message from President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle -- especially fitting considering Roberts is slated to interview Michelle on Feb. 26. It will be the first lady's morning show debut.

"Good morning, America, and welcome back, Robin," Obama says in the video. Michelle adds: "Robin, we just want you to know that the whole Obama family -- we've been thinking about you and praying for you and rooting for you every step of the way."

Other guests on Roberts' welcome-back episode included Oprah Winfrey, Hilary Clinton, Kobe Bryant and Roberts' sisters, Sally-Ann and Dorothy.

"I keep pinching myself and I realize this is real. This is actually happening, and I don't have my froggy slippers on, or do I?" Roberts joked during the show. "Faith, family and friends have brought me to this moment and I am so full of gratitude."

It was a truly classy comeback from one brave lady.
