After Sean Penn, Robin Wright Moves On

Who doesn’t love a great “Living Well Is the Best Revenge” story? Six months after filing for divorce from actor-director Sean Penn, Robin Wright is clearly moving on. She recently signed on as the new face of French leather goods company Gerard Darel. And if every face tells a story, then her glowing beauty reflects a woman at peace with herself. Last August, Wright told More magazine that she had no plans to reconcile with her husband. "I hit that crossroad a while ago," the actress said. "I know what I don't want."

Last week, posted a behind-the-scenes video of Wright’s photo session with celebrated photographer Peter Lindbergh. The clip shows the 43-year-old Private Lives of Pippa Lee star engaged in the magical process of creating an evocative portrait. During breaks, she gazes over Lindbergh’s shoulder at her own shots, trying to refine the image she projects. More than a model, she's clearly a collaborator.

Following in the footsteps of actor-singer Charlotte Gainsbourg and supermodel Stephanie Seymour, who have also modeled for Gerard Darel, Wright’s campaign for the company’s Spring-Summer 2010 line was shot in New York City, according to French newspaper Le Figaro’s Madame. And for the company to select her, the article suggested, “shows perfect timing in view of the news involving the actress’ personal life.”

Of course, life is far from perfect for Wright. reported this week that Hopper, her 16-year-old son with Penn, has been arrested for illegal drug possession at Malibu High School. But given that Wright has weathered the tumultuous dissolution of a 13-year marriage to one of the most famous names in Hollywood, we predict she’ll be able to handle her son’s troubles as well.
