Rod Blagojevich has found a new day job before his trial on federal corruption charges gets underway.
Folks close to the camp of the former Illinois governor have confirmed that Blago will appear on NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice.
It’s still not clear if Blagojevich will appear as a contestant or just make an appearance on the show.
"NBC doesn't comment on casting until there's an official announcement to be made," NBC spokeswoman Amanda Ruisi said Friday.
Considering the NBC spokeswomen didn’t flat out deny it, there’s a good possibility it’s true.
His wife Patti has done a stint of reality television since her husband came under fire for allegedly trying to sell President Barack Obama’s old U.S. Senate seat, appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in the summer. Rod was originally scheduled for the three-week reality show in the Costa Rican jungle until a judge prevented him from traveling.
Blagojevich will take any kind of positive press he can get at this point. His corruption trial is set to begin next June and he’s been out of work since he was impeached as governor.
His wife, Patti, came off as the most likable person on I’m A Celebrity. She made me want to root for her because you could clearly tell things back home with her husband were starting to take their toll.
It will be the ninth season of the hit Donald Trump reality show when it premieres in Spring 2010, and the third consecutive season featuring celebrity contestants competing for their favorite charities.
