Rose Ordile: He loves children. At first he was curious because I always had him in the chair, and sometimes children are smaller than the chair. So in the very beginning of his training, we would take him to schools.
In the schools I would bring him and the chair and do an educational presentation. I would teach the children how to pet a cat -- I'd have each child come up and pet Morris. That was how he got used to children petting him.
Then I would take their picture with him, which the children would get to take home as a souvenir. This also helped Morris get used to a camera and having his picture taken. It was a whole acclimation process that worked well all the way around. Training for the children, and training for Morris!
