Rose Ordile is an animal trainer for the film and television industry. She's currently the official trainer for Morris the Cat.

iVillage: What is the most challenging behavior you've ever been asked to teach an animal actor?

Rose Ordile: I'll talk about cats for this one. Believe it or not, probably the hardest thing to train cats to do is perform the natural behaviors that they already do! Your cat at home might rub on your leg -- well, when you're doing a commercial, you have to train that cat to rub on somebody else's leg and look like it belongs to that person. And then the cat has to do that specific behavior in front of lights, in front of a group of people, and do it perfectly in one-tenth of a second. That's the hardest. It's a natural behavior the cats can do, but training them to do that behavior under those circumstances is difficult.
