Days before his wedding to Katy Perry, Russell Brand has released a new memoir that goes into details about his notoriously wild single life -- including his fling with supermodel Kate Moss. Brand acquired his womanizing reputation in 2006, after a one-night stand with Moss landed his name in the gossip pages. And yet, he writes, the model made him feel more like an awkward schoolboy than a player. Here's how Brand, 34, describes Moss in My Booky Wook 2:
Obviously you remember the prettiest girl in your school. Her sweeping majesty, her ethereal glow, how the playground floor did not dare besmirch her gentle feet with its lowly asphalt touch. Kate Moss is the prettiest girl in all our schools.
Brand was set up with Moss by a mutual friend, and when they hit it off, he took her back to his apartment. The next morning, he was in shock that he had slept with the iconic supermodel.
Kate Moss is indeed in the bed, and for a minute I feel like I've murdered her 'Oh my God, what have I done?' I get up and back away like a butler on the first day with the Queen, not daring to turn from her for a moment.
The comedian decided right away that he was in love with Moss, but chose to express his love in an unfortunate manner -- by blabbing to the press about the affair! Moss accused Brand of using her for money and fame, and Brand says he doesn't blame her for walking away -- even though he was "absolutely smitten."
Kind of an odd revelation to publish right before you get married, don't you think? We're sure that Katy Perry has already heard the story, though. When discussing her fiance's past, Perry has referred to Brand as "basically a professional prostitute." And Brand swears that his wild affairs ended the minute he got serious about Katy.
There's one thing we wonder, though: in the book, Brand says that he still keeps Kate Moss's number in his phone, "just to assure myself that it wasn't a dream." Do you think he'll wake up tomorrow with his address book missing a contact?
