"Me and Katy's children, when they're born in the distant future, will probably develop gills. I'm hoping they're going to be hybrid super kids that can live on different atmospheres," Russell Brand tells iVillage, in an exclusive interview that most closely resembles a standup comedy routine (no surprise, as he's a popular standup comic in the U.K.). Of potential parenthood with his fiancé -- pop singer Katy Perry -- Brand says, "I salute you, kids. Future kids of me, good luck out there." And judging from his stream-of-consciousness interview (in the video above), they'll need it!
Brand, 35, who's been engaged to Perry, 25, for about six months, was recently called a "bridezilla" by his future wife. "I don't know what it means," Brand says, confused. "I'd be part bride, part Godzilla. Godzilla wouldn't be able to organize a wedding. He'd keep knocking things over. He'd smash the cake. He's a nutcase. He doesn't agree with the institution of marriage. I think she's gone crazy, that girl. She's nuts."
In Brand's latest movie, Get Him to the Greek, he reprises the role of rock star Aldous Snow (which he originated in 2008's Forgetting Sarah Marshall), who Brand says resembles his real-life persona. "Parts of my character were imitating my own actual life, because Nick Stoller, the film's creator, is a biographical plagiarist, robbing pieces of people's lives and using them for art. He's a life thief." The comedian also adds that he misses his former "wild and crazy" party days which mirror Aldous Snow's life, especially "booze, drugs, sex!"
