Ryan Gosling Wants McDonald's To Use Free-Range Eggs (We Say: How Sexy!)

I really hate eggs. I do. I find them sulphuric embryotic sacks of putridness. But I love Ryan Gosling. Which is why I am joining Ryan Gosling (and a few other less attractive celebs – I’m looking at you, Steve-O) to demand that McDonald’s switch to free-range eggs.

This story traces back to earlier this year, when a prominent McDonald’s supplier, Sparboe Farms, was caught on film by Mercy for Animals torturing their hens. According to MFA’s website, footage of Sparboe Farms “revealed hens crammed into filthy battery cages and dead hens left to rot alongside birds still laying eggs for human consumption.” (Battery cages are small, confining pens used in factory farms.)

McDonald’s has since dropped them as suppliers, but hey, girl, that’s just not enough. Gosling took off his shirt to sign a petition (at least, that’s how I imagine it happened), to demand that the fast food chain switch to free-range eggs altogether, to avoid this kind of mistreatment of hens.
