Though we might have fond memories of Ryan Reynolds in his Van Wilder days, the 35-year-old actor realizes that his hotness has definitely increased over the years.
In the June issue of Details, Reynolds admits that he's happy that his looks matured over time -- and he's not exactly thrilled when he see how thick he use to lay on the hair gel.
"I recently saw a picture from when I was just a pup -- maybe 20 or 21 years old. And I look pretty bad. I've got some weird facial hair, and my hair is glopped with about six pounds of gel," says Reynolds (who's pictured left in 1999 and right in 2012). "So I really don't shy away from aging at all. I love getting older."
We doubt that many actors are grateful about aging in Hollywood, but we do agree that Reynolds has gotten better over time. Before he would sport casual looks to movie premieres (like this unbuttoned, short-sleeved shirt), but now it seems like he's always fashion-conscious. If anyone knows how to work a suit, it's this sexy star -- and we're sure his girlfriend, Blake Lively, would have to agree!
Apparently the idea of looking timeless is something that has become ingrained in Reynolds' mind. "I look at guys like Cary Grant or Jimmy Stewart, and what they were wearing is what you'd wear now," he says. "I just hope in 20 years, when you see a photo of me at a premiere, I'll look good."
One thing he doesn't want us to see is his tattoo of "a cannon in Vancouver" that he got in "a fleeting moment of stupidity" 14 years ago.
"A lot of people have really beautiful tattoos, and I get real tattoo envy," he says. "But then other people basically just treat them like bumper stickers for their bodies."
Ryan, we'd love to see your tattoo -- just to get an extra glimpse at your sizzling body!
