Get the babyproofing basics

The Oven Door
Some people use their oven to store things, and they feel the appliance is safe as long as it's cooled and turned off. Your oven is dangerous whether it's hot or cold, on or off. If a baby or toddler crawls or leans onto the open oven door, the oven can tip over onto the child.
Helpful Hint: Don't ever leave the oven door open '- even if the appliance is cooled and turned off. If you use your oven to store pots or pans, don't let it become a temptation for your child. Make sure he knows that these are not pots or pans he can play with.
