Sally Struthers had a run-in with the law on Thursday when she was arrested for drunk driving.
The 65-year-old actress was pulled over at 12:30 a.m. in the town of Ogunquit, Maine, where she is performing in the stage musical 9 to 5. (The town is in the southeast part of the state, not far from New Hampshire.) TMZ reports that the All in the Family star was handcuffed at the scene, but cooperated with the arresting officer. Struthers was then taken into custody at the police station, where she sat for a mug shot; shortly afterwards, she was released on $160 bail.
Struthers is reportedly being charged with misdemeanor OUI (operating under the influence), which carries up to a $500 fine and a 90-day license suspension for first-time offenders. She will not be facing jail time, and drugs were reportedly not involved.
According to Struthers' rep, she is seeking to have the charges dismissed. In a press statement released on Thursday, the actress's rep declared that "Sally is working and she is fine and she loves The Ogunquit Playhouse and her yearly time in Ogunquit. We deny these charges."
Struthers will continue to star in 9 to 5 at The Ogunquit Playhouse through September 15. A court date has been set for December 14.
