iVillage: What was your big turning point-either during the show or before that made you realize you needed to lose the weight?
When I first came on to The Biggest Loser ranch, I saw everything as a competition. Not so much as competition with everyone else, but I wanted to defeat the person I was the day before. It wasn't untill week four that my "ah-hah" moment really transpired. That week I officially took ownership of my life. I took responsibility of my erratic past behavior and no longer was I going to blame everyone but me for the mistakes I made or for the events leading up to the mistakes I had made.
iVillage: What is one thing you wish you had known before going on The Biggest Loser?
I believe I knew all I truly had to know at that point of my life prior to being casted for The Biggest Loser. I say that because then, I was immature, cocky, and delusional to what my life really was (a mess). The Biggest Loser changed all of that. I grew up. My transformation was about going from a boy to man. A true life lesson.
iVillage: Did you think it’s harder or easier to be on the show with a family member as a teammate as opposed to competing by yourself?
I'd say neither. No matter what, you have to make the change happen. As far as being on the show as a couple, it was great to have family there with you to share such an amazing and unique experience.
iVillage: If you could have done one thing differently during the show, what would it be?
iVillage: What's the hardest thing to adapt to while living on the ranch?
Living with strangers.
iVillage: What is one thing that keeps you motivated when you don't feel like working out or you want to eat junk food?
The post workout satisfaction is awesome! I feel like my body is addicted to getting its *ss whooped (for lack of better word). That's my motivation. Craving the the post workout satisfaction. As far as junk food....hmmmm??? I'm not really a junkfood junkie. I mean, don't get me wrong, I enjoy sweets, but a high-cal day every week takes care of that for me. Good things in life come in moderation.
iVillage: What is your favorite workout?
Anything that involves being outdoors. I love to take advantage of my environment.
iVillage: What's the best advice Bob or Jillian has given you?
Get on the treadmill!
iVillage: What is your favorite meal or snack?
Fage Greek yogurt, strawberries, and Kashi GoLean Crunch cereal on top. Add some truvia and that's what I call birthday cake.
iVillage: What's something viewers at home wouldn't know from watching the show?
Me discovering of my adoption at the age of 18 lead to my downward spiral. Oh yeah, and I'm adopted.
