Sandra Bullock may have played an adoptive mother in her Oscar-winning Blind Side performance, but she currently has no plans to do the same in real life. Despite rumors swirling that the actress wanted to adopt her estranged husband Jesse James' three children, People claims that her rep says it's simply not true.
"There are no plans, nor have there ever been any plans, for Sandra Bullock to adopt any of Jesse James' children," her rep told the magazine.
Bullock, 45, has been helping to raise 15-year-old Chandler, 12-year-old Jesse Jr., and 6-year-old Sunny with James, 40, since the couple's 2005 marriage. The children are from James' two previous marriages to Karla James and Janine Lindemulder.
Nevertheless, both parties are reportedly putting the best interests of the kids first, as they each cope with the fallout from James' infidelities (so far, four women have come forward claiming they had affairs with the West Coast Choppers biker during his marriage to Bullock.) People reports, "Friends of the couple have said the children’s welfare is the priority for both Bullock and James."
And how is the couple handling the sudden fracture in their marriage? RadarOnline now cites a source saying Bullock has decided to take steps towards divorce, saying that Bullock feels "humiliated and...that her entire marriage was one big lie." Meanwhile, TMZ reports that fans of motorcycling hero James are rallying to support the disgraced Monster Garage star with a plan to lift his mood by biking past his Long Beach, Calif., restaurant Cisco Burgers.
Jesse James isn't really the one whose mood we worry about, frankly. We may have named Sandra Bullock our iVillage Woman of the Week, but at this rate, we may have to dub her Woman of the Year. Stay strong, Sandra!
