Sandra Bullock may have eventually walked away with the Academy Award for Best Actress (for The Blind Side), but on Oscar weekend she made a surprise appearance to collect another honor: a Razzie Award for worst actress, for her 2009 comedy bomb (costarring Bradley Cooper), All About Steve. And unlike many Razzie winners, Bullock actually showed up to accept the dubious honor.
Armed with a red wagon full of All About Steve DVDs, Bullock came to the podium with a self-deprecating acceptance speech.
"I thought no one went to see this film, but I know there are more than 700 members here," she joked, referring to All About Steve's box office failure. In defense of the film, she added: "I brought the shooting script. I'm willing to go through page by page, read the line the way I did it in the film and, if anyone wants to give me a line read of how I could've done it better... We can do this till about 4 o'clock in the morning."
The 45-year-old also gamely accepted the worst couple award (jointly won with costar Cooper, who was absent) for that same movie.
The Razzies have been around for 30 years, but Bullock is the first performer to receive the Best Actress Oscar and the worst actress Razzie in the same year. She's also one of the few Razzie winners to attend the ceremony -- the most famous other example being Halle Berry, who showed up to collect her worst actress Razzie for Catwoman.
Personally, we think Bullock deserves yet another award: best sense of humor!
