Sarah Jessica Parker is letting Sex and the City fans experience a brand new side of Carrie Bradshaw. Parker, 44, who has launched several successful perfumes in the past (including Lovely, Dawn, Endless and Twilight) has just launched a new fragrance: SJP NYC.
The star had a very specific visual inspiration in mind, according to People, while creating the new scent: "What I really wanted to do was capture an image, a snapshot in my head of Carrie Bradshaw, that sort of freeze-frame of her walking down any New York City street at an idyllic time of year in a floral-print dress on her way to meet somebody or to do something, or surrounded by her women friends."
Parker isn't the only celebrity with a perfume hitting stores in 2010. Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé have both debuted signature scents (Voluptuous and Heat, respectively) and Rihanna has announced that she'll be introducing her own fragrance by the end of this year, as soon as she decides (with fans' input) what to call it.
Parker will return to the big screen as Carrie Bradshaw for Sex and the City 2, opening on May 28. In the meantime, SJP NYC -- described as an infusion of "strawberry with gardenia and vanilla" -- is available for purchase at Macy's for $35.
