Wedding Rings Aren't Required

After the election was over, rumors continued to spread about Palin's family -- including one that her marriage to Todd was in trouble. Some tabloid editors pointed out recent photos of Sarah, sans wedding band. "I often didn't wear my $35 wedding ring because I often didn't wear any jewelry at all," says Palin. "Todd didn't even have a ring, and neither of us worried about that, nor did we think media personalities should worry about that, either." In fact, throughout the book, Palin refers to Todd in glowing terms. "That day in sunny Texas, when the divorce rumors were rampant in the tabloids, I watched Todd, tanned and shirtless, take the baby from my arms," she writes. "'Dang,' I thought. 'Divorce Todd? Have you seen Todd?'"
