It's a sitdown that never seemed like it would happen. Whether it will be cordial or contentious, Sarah Palin will have a long-awaited chat with Oprah Winfrey on Monday, the day before the release of Palin's autobiography Going Rogue. We asked iVillagers to tell us what they would ask Palin if given the chance to sit down with the onetime Republican VP candidate, and — heads up, Oprah — the questions were equally tough and thoughtful. Read what they had to say, then chime in with your questions below. And don't forget to tune in to The Oprah Winfrey Show Monday at 4 p.m. ET on ABC to see what questions the daytime host lobs at the politician.
"I'd like to know how she feels quitting governor midterm has affected her credibility and any future political aspirations she might have. I'd also like to know why someone would believe she can get things done if she stopped trying and quit." —cl-miyaka2007
"I think Oprah should ask Sarah Palin what she thinks about those liberals who are so open-minded they despise anything Palin thinks/says because it's not what they think. Oh please, Oprah. Ask about the tolerant left and how they attacked Palin." —janetis40
"I would ask her if [John] McCain had won and she was vice president, would she have quit the vice presidency due to the ongoing ethics investigations of her back in Alaska? And I would ask [if] she still holds the media in disdain considering that they are giving her the opportunity to promote her book?" —mombitsy
"I would ask her how she manages to maintain such incredible grace in the face of the intense and petty attacks thrown her way." —cariemamax5
"I'd ask her what she would do to make America a better place for all of its citizens, and not just conservatives. I'd also ask her if she thought Jesus would agree with her policies." —kittyrose333
"If I'm a liberal and an evangelical Christian from a small, conservative town in New York, but now I live in a large city in a conservative state (Texas), am I a 'real American' or not? I should mention that I don't run a factory or teach kids or grow food or fight in a branch of the military—that all seems to come with some sort of special qualification as pro-American. Though, my father was a hunter and I have eaten venison. That would be my question. My follow-up would be something about alienating the portion of the country that doesn't live in a small town and why I would vote for someone who assumed I was less American than they were because I was from—horror!—New York." —emmake22
"I would ask her how she deals with people who have formed an opinion of her based on a [Saturday Night Live] skit." —mrsjbh1121
"I would ask her why she thinks it's okay to use the media in her favor (book promotion) if she has so much disdain for them. I would ask her why she didn't wait longer to write her book so she could 1) have it be more than five chapters; 2) wait until she actually accomplished something special to write about; and 3) complete her commitment to the citizens of Alaska and set a good example about honoring one's commitments and such." —jpo72
"The main thing I think on many minds [are] will she run for VP or president in 2012? And does she allow her grandson's father to see him?" —ivhhugs
"I'd ask her what would possess her to get on an airplane with 'leaking amniotic fluid' when she is high-risk, in pre-term labor with a Down syndrome child…And I'd ask about her comments that she 'considered abortion' when she found out she was pregnant at 44. Why would she want to take away the very right she exercised?" —bitgirlsp
"I would ask her again exactly what publications she prefers reading to keep up on foreign affairs. The last time she was asked that, she couldn't name one paper, magazine or article that she specifically reads. I believe she finally told Katie [Couric], after what seemed like an eternity, that she reads 'all of them.' What?!" —midwesternman
"Hmm... I can't think of anything I'd like to ask because I've noticed that other people who do it don't get a straight answer, or any kind of answer at all, really..." —muddymessalonskee
