Sarah Palin's got a new gig? You betcha!
The former Republican vice-presidential candidate and critic of "the media elite" confirmed Monday that she has signed a multi-year deal to appear as a regular contributor on Fox News. Palin was frequently in the spotlight in late 2009 while promoting her memoir, Going Rogue, after unexpectedly resigning in July from her previous job as the governor of Alaska.
Bill Shine, Fox News executive vice president of programming, said, "Governor Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum, and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the Fox News lineup," said Monday.
In addition to regularly adding her commentary, Palin will host periodic episodes of Fox News Channel's Real American Stories, a series exploring inspirational real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape; Stories will debut in 2010. In a statement, Palin said, "It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news."
