The Dec. 7 episode hosted by Academy Award winner Foxx poked fun at the two actors, pointing out how much they have in common, with a game show called "Dylan McDermott or Dermot Mulroney?"
The sketch was infused with racial humor, as Foxx, Kenan Thompson and Jay Pharoah played the contestants.
"Just a reminder for those of you at home, no one has ever won this game," said the game show's host, played by Bill Hader. "And it looks like today it will be worse than usual."
Then the host began the game by flashing a picture of Mulroney (or is it McDermott?) and asking the contestants which actor it is, to which Thompson's character responded emphatically: "We will never know this!"
The next rounds fared no better, as the host confused things even further by explaining that one of them starred in The Truth About Cats and Dogs, no Must Love Dogs, opposite Ashley Judd, no, Diane Lane.
"You know what, eff you!" Foxx said.
In one case, double points were awarded for the answer "Rupert Everett," since the judges considered him "the gay Dermot Mulroney," but sadly for the contestant, "zero times two is still zero."
The final round included a guest appearance from Mulroney himself, who proceeded to hold up a picture of McDermott and claim it was his face.
"But you're Dermot Mulroney!" the host explained, to which Mulroney responded, "I am? Oh my God, I've been sleeping with another man's wife!"
