Make a List

Set a budget for holiday spending up front and don’t just think gifts but be sure to also include holiday parties, travel and cards. Then, spend a block of time listing out everyone you’re going to buy gifts for this season with the amount you want to spend on each person. If the list gets too long, consider grouping gifts by couple or family. Think about who would appreciate a DIY gift and plan ahead for those. To make the list-making process easier, download an app to your phone to track your spending. Apps like Christmas Shopping List (99 cents in the itunes store) will help you keep track of your list and how much you’re spending on each person.
