Product: Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Sleep Pillow Mist
Cost: $10
Claim: Misting your pillow and sheets with this spray, containing lavender essential oil and vanilla, will induce a calming state that can help you drift off to sleep faster.

This spray gets a thumb’s up from Alan Hirsch, M.D., founder and neurological director of Chicago’s Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation. "It makes a lot of sense for two reasons: The scent of lavender increases the brain’s calm-inducing alpha waves, associated with a more relaxed state,” he says, “while the scent of vanilla has been shown to help people fall asleep faster." Verdict: Score! (Bonus: Your bedroom will smell nicer too.)
