"Yesterday, on the news, two kids were fighting on a street in downtown Phoenix. A little boy punches a little girl in the face. The next thing you know one of the kid's parents came out guns blazing and one of the parents was sent to the hospital in critical condition. Now what kind of example is that for our children? We don't need more gun laws! What we DO need are responsible parents."
"While I agree with you that parents do need to set examples for our children, I strongly disagree when you say that we do not need stronger gun laws. We MUST put an end to the easy access that Americans have to guns. I believe that hunters should have the ability to hunt with rifles and other hunting weapons. But we absolutely have to make a stand now, and ban handguns and assault weapons, which have no purpose other than to kill human beings. If we tell our children that violence is wrong, but allow the sale and the use of weapons which are used exclusively for killing-- will they ever believe us? "
"Pay more attention to WHAT your child is saying and how it is said. Guns don't kill, people do, is a true adage. Our society needs to enforce severe punishment for killing people. The six-year old claiming he knew what he was doing when shooting another child must have witnessed that sort of violence. No one had discussed the correctness or incorrectness of such behavior with him. START TALKING AND DO IT TILL YOU'RE HOARSE! It's our kids and their future-do you want to visit your 11-year old in prison?"Browse 100's of other parenting solutions
