See This Video and Never View Your So-Called "First World Problems" the Same Way Again

Water Is Life's YouTube video puts our petty tweets in the mouths of people with real problems

“First world problems.” It’s a phrase we casually toss around to show we do have some perspective on how important it actually is that the barista prepared our coffee order the wrong way, or that it rained right after we got our car washed.

The phrase is kinda funny -- or so we always thought. But now there’s a video out there that is making us rethink a lot of things. Water Is Life’s YouTube video shows residents in the third world reading tweets that ran with the hashtag #firstworldproblems. And coming from the mouths of folks who don’t even have clean water to drink, which makes every day a matter strictly of survival, our daily issues just sound downright ridiculous.
