Sure, wearing sweatpants in the midst of a sweltering summer might seem a bit counterintuitive, but lately I've become more and more convinced that they warrant the same summer-staple street cred as a cute pair of shorts or simple sundress might.
Like this pair of Sweet Pants (originally $58, now just $19.95, at Free People). They're incredibly chic (how cute does that girl look in the picture?!), light weight, and let's be honest -- feel like a dream. In fact, I'm willing to bet you'll feel cooler in these than a pair of denim cutoffs.
Free People paired them with girly top, oversized belt and leather sandals (a look I love!), but I could also see these sleek pants with a black, lacey top and sky-high heels for a night out on the town, or with a button down, blazer and pair of ballet flats for a more work appropriate look.
