After a long struggle with breast cancer, actress Alaina Reed-Amini, a beloved veteran of 1970s-era Sesame Street (on which she was credited as Alaina Reed Hall) has died. She was 63.
According to TVSquad.com, Hall died on Dec. 17.
The actress was beloved as Olivia on the PBS kids' series, which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, and also played Rose (landlady to Marla Gibbs) as a regular cast member of the '80s hit sitcom 227. In addition, Reed-Amini made appearances on successful series such as Friends, Ally McBeal and ER.
Before her success on the small screen, Reed-Amini was a stage actress in both Broadway and off-Broadway musicals.
And, as evidenced by this vintage Sesame Street clip, she was a mean double-dutch rope-skipper.
